An extravaganza of biking events in May to celebrate National Bike Month.

In recognition of Simsbury's status as the first and only Bicycle-Friendly Community in Connecticut, Bike Walk Simsbury has organized a number of events and activities during the month of May to celebrate National Bike Month.

The schedule includes nearly two dozen, guided bike rides for all age groups and abilities. Experienced bicyclists will lead rides on the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail/East Coast Greenway and along country roads. Most rides are free.

Other highlights include a Free Adult/Teen Bike Education Class on May 8 and the unveiling of the Simsbury Bike Sculpture during ArtWalk Simsbury! on May 19.

Showstopper Mike Steidley, an "extreme," nine-time national champion and stunt rider, will demonstrate what feats are possible on a mountain bike on May 6. His performance is free and for all ages.
