For years, Simsbury, CT, town officials have shown a commitment to creating a local bicycling culture. In 2010, town staff played a major role in securing Simsbury's designation as a Bicycle-Friendly Community by the League of American Bicyclists. Financial support, as well as time and services, keep Simsbury moving forward as a town committed to a bicycle culture. www.town.simsbury.ct.us

- Incorporating Complete Streets into revised town center zoning regulations
- Painting sharrows on town roads and installing "Share-the-Road" signs
- Creating a Bike Lane on a widely used section of the bike trail along Iron Horse Blvd.
- Sponsoring an Adult/Teen Bike Education Class
- Sponsoring a Kids' Bike Rodeo (Simsbury Police Department)
- Purchasing bike racks; Simsbury Public Library and Town Hall
- Establishing a bike-share "cycle center" for Town Hall employees
- Purchasing a banner for display - "Simsbury: A Bicycle Friendly Community!"
- Donating town land for Simsbury Bike Sculpture
- Participating in National Bike-to-Work Day
- First Selectman Mary Glassman leads "Tour de Mary" bicycle ride in May
